There will be a full day of soil descriptions. Topics of discussion will include identifying redoximorphic features, permeability limiting features, pros and cons of using backhoe pits vs. hand augering, and much more!
Most importantly, this conference will have tenured soil scientists present to answer your soil description and interpretation questions through hands on demonstrations.
Dr. Steve Thomas, Dr. John Galbraith, Mr. Danny Hatch, Mr. Ryan Reed, and a few VT Soil Judgers will be supplementing VAPSS board members in the description of soil pits.

Conference to wrap up at 4:00 pm. We may look at additional pits while partaking in libations if we find any cool morphological features
